Tell Ya Story Sis: Postpartum Community Care | Support Group
Self Care + Community Care = Postpartum Support After childbirth, new mothers undergo the process of attaining their maternal identity that consists of developing an attachment with their baby, having competence in mothering behaviors, and experiencing pleasure when interacting with the baby (Mercer, 1986). The process of becoming a mother is described as a process of appreciation, discovery, learning, and acceptance of the woman's new role, which results in a positive and worthwhile experience (Martell, 2001). However, because of new mothers' lack of baby-care skills, they feel a loss of control in their lives and lack of time and space for themselves. Child-care responsibilities and lack of knowledge and preparation are sources of frustration and fatigue for new mothers (Aston, 2002; McVeigh, 1997; Mercer, 1985). You are not alone. Your tribe awaits and we are holding space for you if you need a safe space to release, commune and connect. We will discuss selfcare, postpartum support, resources, tips, releasing what no longer serves us, we will do a guided meditation and more as we connect divinely. We are doing our part by creating community and changing the narrative of postaprtum. Guess what? We took away obstacles such as "no ride", "no baby sitter, I don't have a group in my area", "not feeling good about how I look", " it's during the day"... on the phone we only hear you. In this way we connect with your spirit and essence only. Join Us our Conference Access Number: 1-218-936-0554 Your Conference Passcode: 9999# Click Here fwith your smart phone: 1-218-936-0554;9999#
