MS Word: Reviewing Documents

Nearly 3 million job postings within the last year require productivity software skills (i.e., spreadsheets and word processing programs) across a range of occupations and in a range of industries. Specifically, in occupations such as Sales Representative, Customer Service Representative, Office/Administrative Assistant, Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk, Maintenance Technician, Computer Support Specialist, Automotive Service Technician/Mechanic, and Insurance Sales Agent, the demand is almost entirely in productivity software. In this training, you will develop the skills you need to be successful in your career and beyond! Administrative Fee. A non-refundable Administrative Fee is required for enrollment into our workshops. The Administrative Fee is $10 and the cost of the workshop is FREE. Refund/Cancellation Policy. If you cancel your registration, the Administrative Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to another participant or workshop. If it is necessary for CCAES to cancel any workshop, the Administrative Fee will be fully refunded. Attendance. Within each class, the material taught builds on prior class meetings, so attendance is key. Requirements: Laptop with Microsoft Office software installed Students must use the desktop version of Word installed via Office 365, not the Word Online version or app version of Word—those versions do not include full Word functionality. Microsoft offers a free one-month trial subscription and monthly subscriptions. Click here for details. Plug-in mouse (recommended) Basic familiarity with computers, which includes experience using a keyboard and mouse Comfort working in the Windows environment Be able to use Windows to manage information on your computer Be able to perform specific tasks, including opening and closing applications, navigating basic file structures, and managing files and folders Learning Objectives: Work in Read Mode View Find and Replace Text Scan Document Content Check Spelling and Grammar Work with AutoCorrect Using Word’s Thesaurus and Dictionary Translate Text Track and Review Document Changes Combine Reviewers’ Comments Work with Comments Facilitator: Marion Franklin Cannon, MSIT, MCT, MOS Expert, GCDF, is the Co-Founder and Director of Training and Development at Cannon & Cannon Adult Education Services, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers technology, Microsoft Office, and career workshops to help adults with low skills so they can benefit from improved employment opportunities and enhanced family life. She is also an Adjunct Instructor at Chattahoochee Technical College where her work focuses specifically on providing guidance and instruction necessary to prepare students with the fundamental concepts and operations needed to use computers. Marion is pursuing a master's degree in Adult and Career Education, holds a master's degree in Information Technology, bachelor's degree in Administrative Management, and certificate in Computer Office Technology. She is also a Microsoft Certified Trainer and MOS certified in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Lastly, Marion is a credentialed Global Career Development Facilitator, certified job search coach, and dual-certified resume writer.
