Lockers to Lockdown: Educate Students, Stop Arrests
Join Gwinnett SToPP in collaboration with the End Mass Incarceration GA Network, Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities, GGC Psi Chi Chapter and GGC Student Government Association on Saturday, October 19th for "From Lockers to Lockdown: Educate Students, Stop Arrests." This event is in conjunction with the Dignity in Schools Campaign National Week of Action. We'll take a closer look at the underlying factors that create the intersection of race, special education and the School to Prison Pipeline, as well as identify intentional and effective actions that you can take to help stop school pushout and school based arrests. This event is a must attend if you are the parent, guardian or caretaker of a child who receives special education support. We also encourage students who receive special education supports to attend and learn how to be their own best advocate. The event is Free! FREE t-shirts to first 25 people!
