Girl in the Glass

Wednesday, August 28, 2019, 12:30 AM

We are back!!! Many of you have been excitedly anticipating the return of the Girl in the Glass meet-ups where we share our struggles and our celebrations in a mutually mentoring environment.  If you are reading this, then you are most likely considered to be that "strong friend" who is always helping others, but not necessarily receiving reciprical support in return.  It's been said that iron sharpens steel, and here, you will find a lot of sharpening in this group.  Goal setting, accountability, and resources will be easily obtained. This is the place where strangers become friends (if you choose to do so) and we offer support where it's needed while sharing, observing, and listening and learning, as we navigate some of life's most significant ups and downs.  You will find the Girl in the Glass, a safe space to open up and be free with no judgement in a confidential intimate space.  You are welcome to laugh, cry, let go or be strong.  Vulnerability can be healing and our goal is to be supportive, provide guidance, tools for coping, and a listening ear.   Girl in the Glass is an empowerment workshop that inspires women to trust, receive and believe in their ability to live in their truth. Women oftentimes look for validation and approval from parents, spouses, friends, etc.—forgetting to listen to their own voice. Girl in the Glass challenges women to expand their mindsets and embrace who they are meant to be. These workshops also help women strip away the labels and the ideas of what they ‘should be doing’ to uncover their pure passions and amplify that inner voice that says, ‘I can do this!’  After a short break, we decided to offer 3 free groups to re-introduce the concept of Girl in the Glass.  You may sign up to attend a Saturday afternoon, a Monday Afternoon, or a Tuesday evening group.  This is to make sure that there is an option for all of you busy women.  The groups will be smaller to allow for more one on one interactions and to provide an intimate atmosphere giving an elevated sense of comfort via more privacy. This special complimentary marathon is sponsored by iEmpower Me, Too, a non-profit dedicated to supporting Men, Women, Teen Boys and Girls in their efforts to discover who they are and what they need out of life to become empowered beyond what their circumstances have shown them they could be.  Mental Health Wellness is the new selfcare and your mental health matters.
