For the last three years Professional Women in Advocacy has been bringing professional development programming to Atlanta for women working in government relations, public affairs, advocacy and activism. Our next workshop is on September 16th, 2019 and we would love to see you there! PWIA Atlanta Workshop The Gathering Spot September 16, 2019  Agenda   8:00am          Registration and breakfast 8:30am          Ice breaker with Honorary Host Committee Members 9:00am         Welcome remarks – Qaadirah Abdur-Rahim, CEO Future Foundation 9:15am          Opening Conversation – Leadership, Advocacy and Higher Education with Gué P. Hudson M.A.T. Vice President, Student Life and Community Relations and Dean of Students Emerita , Agnes Scott College and Leocadia “Lee” Zak President of Agnes Scott College 10:00am        Breakthrough Advocacy –Speaker: LeeAnn Petersen, CEO, PWIA Conference  10:15am         Innovation for Advocacy - Explore the latest tools, trends and technologies transforming the way we advocate. Each speaker gives a 10-minute TED Talk style case study. Moderator: Ann Dermody, FiscalNote Panelists: Fundraising- Amy Small, Media Cause; APPS- Horace Williams, EMPOWR; Coalitions - Rebecca Serna, Atlanta Bicycle Coalition 11:15am         Breakthrough Communications for Advocacy – This panel will discuss how to meet policy makers and stakeholders where they are. We will discuss social media, targeting, video; phones and text messaging.
